Tensions were high as a moratorium was asked for a sixth time on wind energy expansion into Labette County. District Two Constitute Josh Ghering asked District Two Commissioner Brian Kinzie how he could support windmills when there is a health and safety risk involved.

Commissioner Kinzie, in response to Ghering, disputed the concerns over health and safety.  The moratorium Ghering was seeking was for 18 months. He would like to see how things in Neosho County continue to develop, including issues on the damage to rural roads. Commission Chairman Lonie Addis made a motion for the moratorium but it failed without a second.
