Recent car burglaries in Caney have been connected to two juveniles from Oklahoma.  A Caney resident reported that his debit card had been stolen and was used at the Quick Trip in Bartlesville.  Another citizen reported what appeared to be personal belongings strung along Highway 75 south of Caney.  In all 10 car burglaries were reported in Caney and others reported to have been broken into but nothing was stolen. 

Video footage from the Quick Trip showed 5 juvenile males.  Officers were able to determine the boys, all from Bartlesville, had traveled to Caney to visit friends. During the night, two of them decided to go “Car Hopping”, focusing on unlocked vehicles.  The two boys confessed to the thefts.  Most of the stolen property has been recovered but most of that property had been damaged.  Recommended charges will be multiple counts of felony burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.
