Govenor Laura Kelly Annouces $23 Million for Road Improvment Projects

 

Governor Laura Kelly announced that 36 Kansas Cities will be receiving funds for road repair. With a commitment to preserving and improving Kansas’s highways, Kelly has said twenty-three million dollars will be spent towards road improvement projects. Included within those 36 cities are 3 located within Southeast Kansas. The three cities include Parsons, Independence, and Baxter Springs. In Parsons, they are doing pavement restoration on U.S 59 for one million dollars.

 

In Independence they are doing two different projects, both projects are on U.S 75, they will be doing surface preservation for $300,000 and they will be doing geometric improvements for $1,000,000. Finally, in Baxter Springs they have planned to go through with pavement restoration on U.S 69A for $1,000,000.
