Pitt State President to Step Down

Pittsburg State University's president has announced that he is stepping down at the end of this fiscal year, June 2022. Steve Scott told the Kansas Board of Regents that he is going to keep his future options open so at the moment he isn't calling this a retirement. He is still tenured as a faculty member at Pitt State so he may consider teaching.

A graduate of Pitt State, Scott has served in several leadership roles. He was a faculty member in the College of Education, chair of the Department of Special Services and Leadership Studies, dean of the College of Education, vice president for Academic Affairs and university president since 2009.
