A Girard man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man.

 

Early Sunday morning, Pittsburg Police Department officers were called to Ascension Via Christi’s in reference to a 40-year-old man who was brought in with multiple stab wounds to his face and abdomen. After interviewing several witnesses, it was revealed the incident occurred within a vehicle in the 400 block of West 6th Street.

 

Evidence was collected and 50-year-old Jose Flores-Velez was identified as the suspect. Flores-Velez was located at his residence and was placed under arrest for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and for a warrant out of Crawford County District Court for Domestic Battery. He was transported to the Crawford County Jail for booking and is currently being held without bond.

 

The victim in this case was later released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
