Missouri Man Arrested on Several Charges

A Missouri man has been arrested after committing a series of crimes over several days in Pittsburg.

Late last week, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to a convenience store regarding a report of a robbery. The store clerk reported that a male suspect was taking an item of merchandise without paying for it. When confronted by the clerk, the male suspect told the clerk that he had a gun on him and then left the store.

Officers determined the suspect was 23-year-old Aaron M. Beard, of Liberal, Missouri.

The next day, Pittsburg PD was called to the Regency Inn & Suites for a report of an armed robbery. Beard came into the victim’s motel room and demanded money. The victim did not give Beard any money but told him he could take other property from the room. Beard did not take anything, but threatened the victim and then left their room.

Then earlier this week, Pittsburg PD was called to LaQuinta Inn & Suites regarding a report of suspicious activity. Officers made contact with Beard and a female subject. Beard was taken into custody while the female subject was released.

Beard was arrested on multiple counts including two counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Beard was transported to the Crawford County jail and is currently being held without bond.
