Pay Increase for Labette Dispatch and Sheriff's Office

Labette County department heads continue to look for ways to recruit and retain employees. Currently, sheriff and 911 employees make forty cents extra an hour for working nights. Dispatch Director Brandi Grassl says she would like to see that pay increase and include weekends.

Grassl says she thinks that shift differential increases will help with employee recruitment and retention.  The Labette County Commission voted unanimously to approve the thirty-five-cent increase for dispatch, sheriff's office and jail staff beginning with the August pay period.
