As the demand for gas increases, prices in Kansas and Oklahoma continue to climb.
Montgomery and Labette County residents are paying $2.88/gallon which two cents is higher than the state average of $2.86. Chautauqua County is $2.94 and Wilson County is the lowest in the immediate area at $2.85.
Gas prices in Oklahoma have shot up over the past three weeks by 10 cents to $2.87/gallon. Gas in Washington County is at $2.94 while Nowata County is at $2.78 which cheapest in northeast Oklahoma.
The national average is $3.15/gallon. Motorists are paying, on average, nearly a dollar more a gallon than last summer to fill up and close to 40 cents more than in 2019. Even with the elevated prices, Kansas and Oklahoma are ranked #8 and #9 for the least expensive gas in the nation.
