A 59-year-old Crawford County man has been arrested on multiple sex charges.
Gerald Laverne Simmons of Pittsburg turned himself into detectives with the Pittsburg Police Department as the result of a swift investigation initiated on June 29th, where Simmons was accused of inappropriate sexual contact with children under 14 years of age. This sexual contact is alleged to have occurred over the course of the past two years.
Charges will be requested for Simmons to be charged with nine counts of Rape of a Child under the age of 14; three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sodomy of a Child under the age of 14; twenty-four counts of Aggravated Indecent Solicitation of a Child under the age of 14; twelve counts of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child under the age of 14; and four counts of Aggravated Endangering of a Child.
Simmons is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
