City of Cherryvale Receives USDA Grant

The City of Cherryvale has received a grant of $37,400 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The grant is a part of the Community Facility Disaster Grants program and will be used to purchase a vehicle and equipment for the Fire-Rescue Department's Code Enforcement needs. Currently, other emergency vehicles are being used for code inspections and other related duties, which may cause delays when emergencies occur. The new purchase will be designated for Code Enforcement purposes, potentially reducing those delays and helping with response times.

The project will cost $49,971 in total, with the city contributing $12,571 of its own money.
