At around 9:40am this morning the call came in for a report of a fire at the Edna Mattress Factory in Edna. Labette County Emergency Management Director Charlie Morse says there was personnel on the scene within three to five minutes.

Morse says at this time they do not know what caused the fire but do believe everyone was able to get out safely. The building is a complete loss, but they did stop the spread of the fire to other buildings.  More information will be made available as soon as we have that.
