The City of Cherryvale and Labette County have each have received a 2021 KDOT Cost-Share Grant.
Cherryvale received a $472,000 grant that will provide funding to do major road work and repairs throughout the city. Some of those projects include the tear-out and widening of Willow and the tear-out, widening, and overhaul of the Main and Maple intersection.
Labette County also received a Cost Share Grant totaling just over $1.1 million that will help replace Pumpkin Creek Bridge which is considered functionally obsolete. The bridge is located on 8000 Road west of Angola.
Cost Share is a component of Governor Laura Kelly's 10-year, bipartisan Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program. Cost Share is designed to help both rural and urban areas advance transportation projects to improve safety; support job retention and growth; relieve congestion and improve access and mobility.
