A three-person recall petition committee and a group of petition sponsors are circulating a petition to have Labette County District 2 Commissioner Brian Kinzie removed from office. Committee Member Brad Owens says he has lost trust in the commissioner.

Owens says he opposes wind energy because he has seen firsthand the negative health and psychological effects windmills can have.  To sign the petition you need to be a registered voter in district two and the signatures on the petition are an open record. The committee has 90 days to collect 1,202 signatures and Commissioner Kinzie or any other “aggrieved party” has 30 to challenge the recall effort.
