A Lenexa man has been arrested on various drug charges.

Chanute Police Department Officers were sent to check out an unoccupied vehicle in Santa Fe Park. During the time, Chanute PD K9 searched around the vehicle and sensed the presence of illegal narcotics. Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the vehicle. During the search, officers located drugs and drug-related items.

As officers were finishing up with the search, the owner of the vehicle came back to the car. Officers conducted an interview and then arrested 51-year-old Derek Benjamin Leon Riley for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Neosho County Jail without incident.
