Two Arrested Could be Tied to Other Area Thefts

Two suspects are in custody following their arrest during a traffic stop by Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputies. 51-year-old Joseph Lee Woody, of Seymour, Texas, and 40-year-old Brandy Nicole Holmes, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, were arrested for the theft of a maintenance trailer stolen from Riverton School at the end of April.

Woody also faces felony narcotics charges after suspected meth and paraphernalia were located on him during his arrest. He also has an outstanding warrant from Adair County, Oklahoma related to bogus checks. Sheriff David Groves said we believe these two suspects are involved in other recent thefts in the area and expect additional charges as a result of those investigations.
