Montgomery County Commission Discusses American Rescue Plan

The American Rescue Plan was the primary topic of discussion at Monday's Montgomery County Commission meeting.

Trisha Purdon of the Montgomery County Action Council was in attendance and brought the commission information on the plan, which was signed into law back in March. Some of the more important ways funds can be used under this plan include supporting public health response or replacing public sector revenue loss.

Purdon also informed the commission that this would be her final week as the director of the council. She has been chosen to lead the Kansas Office of Rural Prosperity by Governor Laura Kelly. Her office will continue to be based in Montgomery County. In the meantime, Jim Kelly will serve as the interim director of the MCAC while a new applicant is sought.
