An Augusta woman is dead and another was taken to the hospital after an early Thursday morning crash in Greenwood County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Jennifer Hoffman of Wichita was headed eastbound on U.S. Highway 400 when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a Peterbilt truck driven by 35-year-old Travis Martin of Aurora, Missouri that was headed westbound. Hoffman's vehicle came to a rest on its rooftop on top of the westbound guardrail.
Hoffman's passenger, 41-year-old Rebecca Castillo of Augusta, was pronounced dead at the scene while Hoffman was transported to Greenwood County Hospital with minor injuries. Martin was not injured.
