UPDATE: Equity Bank in Independence Robbed

 

UPDATE: 


A Missouri man has been taken into custody in connection with the robbery of Equity Bank in Independence Wednesday afternoon. 


During the investigation, Independence Police Department put out vehicle and suspect information that was relayed to local law enforcement. 

 

At approximately 4:00 pm, the suspect and his vehicle were seen by a Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy and a chase ensued through residential streets in Coffeyville. The suspect lost control of his vehicle at County Road 3200 and US 169 and was apprehended after a short foot chase.


35-year old Paul Duane Gordon of Marshfield, Missouri was transported to the Montgomery Department of Corrections where he was booked on the charge of Aggravated Bank Robbery, Fleeing and eluding, and reckless driving.

PREVIOUS STORY
 

An investigation is currently underway in Independence after the Equity Bank was robbed around 1:00pm this afternoon.

 

There have been no arrests made at this time in connection with this incident. Police have no reason to believe there are any related threats to public safety in the vicinity.

 

Police Chief Jerry Harrison says currently IPD is working with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate this incident. KGGF will provide further details as soon as they are available.
