Members of Sheriff's Office Receive National Recognition

Three members of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office recently received a National Certificate of Recognition for their public safety efforts in sex offender management.

Sergeant Detective Travis Fields, Sergeant Detective Trent Martin, and Administrative Office Manager Janis Echard received the Certificates of Recognition from Mike Cormaci, President of OffenderWatch, which works with over 3,500 agencies across the country. Cormaci said that Sgt. Fields, Sgt. Martin and Mrs. Echard implemented policies and procedures well above the ordinary minimum requirements set forth by state law, to ensure the law enforcement community and citizens are made aware of offender movements, status changes, and risks.

Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves said he is proud of the members of his team who have received this deserving recognition because their hard work helps keep families in the community safe.
