The Independence Fire-EMS Department responded to a camper fire early Tuesday morning.

Units responded to a call at 310 S. 23rd Street at about 9:10 am. Upon arrival, they found a fully involved camper on fire next to a structure. With assistance from Independence Rural Fire and Cherryvale Fire-EMS, crews were able to bring the fire under control in under 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
