Senator Peck Discusses Governor Kelly's Vetoes

Kansas State Senator Virgil Peck said he expects the veto session will be busy after a flurry of vetoes by Governor Laura Kelly.

Sen. Peck said that he was unhappy that Gov. Kelly vetoed House Bill 2089, which would have allowed school boards to provide firearm safety education programs to students of all ages.

Sen. Peck also gave us his thoughts on Senate Bill 55, better known as the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, which was also vetoed by Gov. Kelly and whether the veto can be overridden.

The veto session begins May 3rd and adjourns on May 15th. You can hear the entire interview with Sen. Peck here.
