A Cherokee County man is facing felony meth charges following his arrest. Just after 6:00pm yesterday, law enforcement located 33-year-old William Monson at his Baxter Springs home. As Monson was being placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant, over 35 grams of suspected methamphetamine was discovered in his pockets.

Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves said any time law enforcement is able to locate and seize methamphetamine, especially over an ounce at one time, it makes the communities safer. Monson is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on a $56,595 bond on various drug charges including intent to distribute and the failure to appear warrant.
