A near-record number of young musicians eager to learn to play in the band has USD447-Cherryvale looking for band instruments for the 2021-2022 school year.

They are asking the community that if you have an unused instrument, to donate to the Cherryvale band program. These instruments will go to the incoming band students. Even if an instrument is not in working order, it will be accepted as they can have the instruments repaired and utilized.

34 students are planning to join the band next year and band director Tad Lafferty would like to see each student have the opportunity to find a passion for music through instruments. Those wanting to donate can contact Lafferty at tlafferty@usd447.org or call the school at (620) 336-8100.
