COVID-19 Numbers Steady Over Past Week

There were only eight new positive COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County in the previous week leading up to Monday.

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, there are a total of 3,434 cases since the pandemic began last March. There was also one additional hospitalization in the county in the past week for a total of 104. Statewide, there were 493 positive cases over the weekend with two news deaths and 56 new hospitalizations.

Most counties in Kansas have been rejecting new shipments of COVID-19 vaccines mainly due to the demand being down with citizens rather already having received their shots, or choosing not to get vaccinated. President Joe Biden plans to send shipments of the vaccine overseas to help outbreak epicenter countries such as India.
