U.S. Senator Roger Marshall said that he doesn't want the recently proposed hate crime act passed.
He said that the proposed COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act seems "open-ended" and "overly broad". Marshall said that he obviously is against any hate crime against anyone, but laws against these offenses are already in place.
The topic arose after eight Asian-Americans were killed in an Atlanta spa last month. The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act will be voted on by the Senate today in which Sen. Marshall plans to vote against.
