The Parsons Police Department's newest K-9 unit Karim made his first drug bust over the weekend. Karim is a 19-month-old Belgian Malinois who is nationally certified in narcotics detection.

Sergeant Brice Dickens conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Morton Avenue early Saturday evening. Backup was called and Karim investigated the vehicle and sensed the presence of drugs. Officers were able to locate marijuana and methamphetamines in the vehicle.

The driver was identified as 57-year-old Christopher Cuddy. He was arrested on multiple drug charges and three failure to appear warrants.
