Chautauqua County SPARK Board Terminated

The Chautauqua County Commission terminated its SPARK board at its weekly meeting Monday.

The commission thanked the board for its work over the past few months in distributing money and working for the good of the county. A quick vote passed, with the commission noting that the board had completed its duty and therefore would be released from its obligations.

In other business, Dorothy Shaffer of Niotaze spoke on behalf of the Caney Valley Food Pantry. The pantry is applying for tax credits from the state, and attended Monday's meeting to ask for a letter of support. The pantry serves 9 counties in southeastern Kansas, some of which are temporary.

The commission will meet once again next Monday at 8:30 am.
