Coffeyville Man Arrested in Caney Over the Weekend

A Coffeyville man was arrested on multiple charges over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, an officer with the Caney Police Department stopped a truck for an equipment violation at the corner of Wood and Myrtle Street. After running the tag, it was determined that the license plate was stolen out of Nowata, OK.

The officer was able to identify the driver as 44-year-old James Gruver, who was on probation out of Chautauqua County. Upon further investigation, officers found a set of brass knuckles in the vehicle.

Gruver was arrested for possession of a vehicle with vehicle identification numbers removed, possession of a weapon with intent to use, possession of stolen property and driving with no insurance. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
