The Montgomery County Health Department has informed USD 446 that a student at Independence High School has tested positive for COVID-19.

 

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, there were only eight new positive COVID-19 cases last week in Montgomery County.

 

Per the school district's protocol, areas that the student has occupied over the past several days have been temporarily closed off to be disinfected.

 

The individual can return when released by the health department. Those identified as close contacts will temporarily not be allowed to return to school, however, they will have access to remote learning.
