No COVID Deaths in Kansas Over the Weekend

 

There were zero COVID-19 deaths over the weekend in the state of Kansas, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

 

In Montgomery County, there were only eight cases over the past week. As of last Monday, there were 3,394 total cases in the county and the KDHE reported 3,402 total cases as of yesterday.

 

Statewide, there were 354 new cases and 32 new hospitalizations from last Friday leading up to yesterday.

 

The first case of the 20H/501Y variant, also known as the South African variant, was spotted in Finney County, according to the KDHE. There have been 74 spotted cases of the B.1.17 variant, or the U.K. variant, in 14 different counties in Kansas.
