USD 436-Caney Valley recognized Governor Laura Kelly's Senate Bill 40 in a press release stating that masks will be encouraged, but not required.

Superintendent Blake Vargas stated that while the legal implications of the bill are unknown, they are still recommending both students and staff wear facial coverings until further notice.

Executive Order 20-59 might have expired, but Montgomery County health officials are still wanting schools to have students and staff practice social distancing and good hygiene. Although, there are hardly any COVID cases in Caney Valley schools, they will continue to disinfect their classrooms as well.
