A structure fire occurred in the 400 block of E. 7th Street in Coffeyville early Wednesday morning.

When the Coffeyville Fire Department arrived, there was a heavy blaze and smoke coming from the roof and window openings of the structure.

A blitz attack, involving hand lines and the master stream from the deck gun were used to knock down the fire. Due to a portion of the roof collapsed when they arrived the firefighters were on the defensive.

They were eventually able to put out the blaze with no one injured.
