Fly resistance to common livestock insecticides has become an escalating problem for cattle producers. Kansas State University Veterinary Entomologist Cassandra Olds says using different kinds of fly insecticide products year by year has become essential.

Olds says producers need to carefully select a product in keeping with an every-year chemical rotation and there are resources to help with that.  Olds says if the fly pressure remains intense producers need to go in another direction right away.
