Residents in Cherryvale will head to the polls on April 6th to decide if they wish to extend a citywide sales tax.
The 1% sales tax allows the city to generate revenue to make bond and interest payments from previous projects and support maintenance and repairs of the existing sewer systems. The sales tax requires renewal every 10 years. City voters renewed the sales tax in 2011.
If the existing tax is renewed, it will go into effect on October 1st and runs through 2031. The debt is expected to be retired in 2035.
