The city of Neodesha proclaimed the month of April to be Child Abuse Prevention Month. The proclamation was signed at the city's most recent meeting.

According to the National Children's Alliance, nearly 700,000 children are abused in the United States every year.

Mayor Devin Johnson signed the proclamation saying that "Growing a better tomorrow for all children, together, we can ensure that Kansas children will grow to their full potential as the next generation of leaders, helping to secure the future of this state and nation."
