Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Parsons

A stolen vehicle in Parsons has been returned to its owner.

Last Saturday, the Parsons Police Department was informed of a missing blue 2013 Ford Escape. Two days later, they were informed by a citizen who knew of the missing vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at 29th and Clark Avenue, but the driver of the stolen Ford failed to stop. They were finally able to stop the vehicle in the 500 block of North 30th Street.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Billy Duncan who had a female passenger in the vehicle with him. After a brief interview, officers were able to arrest Duncan for theft of the motor vehicle, attempting to flee and elude law enforcement, driving without a license, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia along with minor traffic violations. Duncan also had an active warrant for his arrest through Labette County Sheriff’s Office. The female passenger was released from the scene.

The vehicle was returned to the vehicle's owner. There were no injuries or vehicle accidents that occurred during the incident.
