Two Females Arrested in Caney Over Domestic Disturbance

Two females were arrested in a domestic disturbance in Caney involving a deadly weapon.

Over the weekend, officers with the Caney Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of South Wood Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers de-escalated the situation upon arrival and began investigating the scene. It was determined that the individuals involved were identified as Julia Kelso and Karen Woods, both of Caney.

Further investigation led to the arrest of both Kelso and Woods for domestic battery. According to interviews with witnesses, Woods threatened Kelso with a kitchen knife. After both parties were taken to the Caney Police Department, they posted bond and were released.

Minutes after Woods was released, officers were dispatched to the same residence to respond to a report of a bond violation. When officers arrived at the residence, Woods was ordered to leave Kelso’s residence. Woods refused to leave after several verbal orders were given to Woods.

Woods was transported to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections and booked under municipal charges of criminal trespass, interference with law enforcement, and disorderly conduct.
