Wilson County to Receive Funding for Bridge Replacement Project

Wilson County was one of six that was selected by the Kansas Department of Transportation to replace a bridge in the department's Off-System Bridge Program.

Projects in the first round of KDOT’s off-system bridge program were selected in fall 2020. With additional federal funds recently made available to Kansas through the Highway Infrastructure Program, additional projects were chosen as part of the state program. These projects will receive $3.94 million in federal funding and will total approximately $5 million in construction costs.

Wilson County will see the bridge about 2 miles northeast of Roper over Woodruff Creek completely replaced at a cost of $575,000. Other counties receiving projects include Atchison, Wabaunsee, Phillips, Franklin, and Reno.
