The Independence City Commission will continue its work on the 1916 City Hall project at a special meeting this morning. The project has now been ongoing for several months, with commissioners and city manager Kelly Passauer in communication with contractor TreanorHL.

The commission will also formally recognize the city's water and sewer crews for going "above and beyond" during the subzero windchills last month. In addition, the city will also recognize employee of the year Shawn Wallis and all of the others nominated for the award.

Today's special meeting will begin at 9 am.
