LeClere Lake in Coffeyville was treated yesterday with a granular fluoride product.

According to the city, the recommendation for the treatment was from Kansas Fish and Game. The state organization recommended the granular product in order to regulate where the chemical was applied.

This allowed the lake to be open to angler use, but still keep the vegetation in the upper end for a fish nursery and more importantly to trap all the fertilizer coming in from the golf course. Below is the area that the city treated.
