Kansas Nearing 300,000 COVID-19 Cases

 

The state of Kansas is approaching the grim milestone of 300,000 COVID-19 cases.

 

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, from Friday through Monday, the state saw 470 new COVID-19 cases, 11 new deaths and 16 new hospitalizations. Although, the number of cases trending downward, the new variants of the virus spreading statewide. There have been 14 reported cases of the B.1.17 variant also known as the UK variant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The total number of cases of COVID-19 in the state is currently at 298,218.

 

In Montgomery County, there have been 3,367 total cases and 95 hospitalizations as of yesterday morning, according to the KDHE.
