Chautauqua County Meeting for 3-15

The Chautauqua County Commission took a long look at its 2020 inventory at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday. All commissioners were in attendance as they quietly looked over the county inventory, which was comprised of several pages of items. No significant action was taken.

In other business, the commission spoke with a representative from Kone Crane regarding a county crane that had been recently ruled non-compliant. Also, County Health Administrator Misti Byers spoke to the commission once again regarding a grant the county had received. The money from that grant will be used to pay salaries and benefits for the county's registered nurses.

Near the end of the meeting, the commission discussed an article, recently published in the Wichita Eagle, that was critical of the county's lack of an emergency declaration over the COVID crisis. The commission will meet again next Monday.
