The Midland Theater renovation project is pivoting to a six-stage plan to restore the theater to its former self.

In a Facebook post Thursday, those with the theater announced the pivot and that Project 1, titled "Secure the Shell," had been completed. Project 2 is called "The Front of the House" and will focus on restoring part of the interior of the building. Examples include repairing the ballroom walls and floor, renovating the ticket booth and concession stand, and updating both restrooms to meet ADA standards.

Donations are still welcomed, either online or by mailing a donation to the Coffeyville Area Community foundation.
