The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin a pavement reconstruction project on U.S. 59 at Parsons on Monday. The road work starts just north of Commerce Drive and continues north for just over ¼ of a mile.

Project activity includes replacing the pavement and installing underdrains. Two-way traffic will be carried through the work zone. Mission Construction of St. Paul is the primary contractor on the $1.3 million project. Work should be completed by midsummer, weather permitting.
