Montgomery County Health Department Director Carolyn Muller gave an update on the vaccination process at the most recent Montgomery County Commission meeting.

Muller said that there will be a clinic open in Independence on Wednesday for vaccinations. She said that the county is hoping to vaccinate 500 people on Wednesday. Muller said that the health department will be closed that day to fully focus on vaccinations at the clinic.

She added that the health department has been approximately been vaccinating 100 people per day, but people have been coming from across the county to Coffeyville to get it. Muller said that the number of doses the county is getting will increase.

The health department has only been getting the Moderna vaccine due to the Pfizer vaccine requiring having certain temperature requirements that could not be met in Montgomery County.
