State Rep. Richard Proehl discussed several topics that are going on during the Legislative session in Topeka. Proehl is part of the Appropriations Committee who sets the budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1st. Proehl said that they are almost ready to start working on the overall budget for the state.
Proehl said that setting the budget for Kansas is completely different than setting the federal budget.
Proehl also discussed a bill going through a committee about trying to stop people from going around school bus stop arms.
The 2021 Kansas Legislative Session will adjourn on May 15th.
