A resurfacing project is set to begin Monday on U.S 69, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The project will occur 2.1 miles north of the Bourbon-Crawford county line and will continue north for 3.8 miles. Project activity includes concrete patching, placement of a one-inch reflective crack interlayer, and a three-inch asphalt overlay. KDOT awarded the construction contract to Bettis Asphalt & Construction of Topeka for $3.5 million.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the work zone. Work on the project should be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.
