Robbery in Parsons Leads to an Arrest

A robbery in Parsons leads to an arrest with one suspect still on the run. Early yesterday morning, there was a report of two black males who robbed Pete's Convenience Store on 32nd and Main and fled the scene on foot.

The men approached the counter and demanded the cash from the register. An officer spotted the men fleeing the area and pursued them near 26th and Southern Avenue. The two men then ran into a field. The pursuing officer then asked for a K-9 unit which led them to the suspects at a residence in the 1200 block of Ward Avenue.

Parsons Police arrested 19-year-old Tyrell Dorsey on one count of aggravated robbery. He was just released from the county jail on bond a week ago for a prior arrest for aggravated domestic violence and burglary. The Probation Department was also alerted to Dorsey’s violation of his conditions of probation. Police are continuing to follow up on leads to locate the second suspect in this robbery.

If anyone has information about the robbery or the whereabouts of the second suspect, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 620-421-7060.
