The City of Coffeyville is one of 32 cities in Kansas that will receive a portion of a nearly $14 million grant to help with street construction. The Community Development Block Grant program is facilitated by the Kansas Department of Commerce Community Development Division. These federal grants are being awarded for a variety of community improvement projects.
The nearly $575,000 grant will be used for the location between 4th and 9th Streets from Lewark to Cline. The project will consist of curb removal and replacement, full-depth patching & concrete pavement in certain locations, and milling & asphalt overlay.
Also included in the most recent grant was Independence who received $700,000, Fredonia received just over $261,000 while Chetopa received $600,000.
