The city of Altamont is working on having gas for its citizens. Yesterday morning, they announced that gas would be cut by 26%, and last night, they informed the city of what to do in case gas runs out.

Public Information Officer and Chief of Police Michael Shields spoke on Facebook Live and gave the news of what will happen in the worst-case scenario.

Shields added what you can do to inform the public if this were to occur.

The Kansas Municipal Energy Agency was able to purchase gas for today, but prices were extraordinarily higher than normal. The price for today's gas was between $150-$300 per MMBtu. The average price is just $3.00.
